How Chartwell streamlined retirement homes’ staff replacements using Evolia?
Introduction
- 15 000 employees
- 181 homes across Canada
- From 3 to 13 homes piloting Evolia in 6 months
With communities in four provinces, including 19 long-term care facilities, Chartwell is Canada’s largest retirement homes operator. With a wide range of workers including healthcare professionals, entertainers, hospitality workers and more, Chartwell prides itself on creating lively communities for the elders.
Due to the size of their operations, Chartwell takes advantage of a broad technology stack that’s required to meet both their high security and interoperability standards.
The Challenges
Increase awareness on absenteism and staff movements
Not only did Chartwell need to improve their efficiency in finding replacements across their callout lists, but they also wanted to be able to assess their gains and better understand the scope of their replacement needs across different teams.
The Solution
Progressively roll out a solution to less tech savvy users without disupting their ecosystem
Chartwell wanted a solution that could integrate to their current ecosystem without the need to make any changes to solutions already in use. During the pilot, Evolia’s flexible business rules were leveraged to match those already in place in their HRIS as a prevision for an eventual connexion to their Active Directory SSO once all homes are onboarded.
A “train the trainer” approach was used to train the client’s core team in becoming autonomous. Additionally, the help of Evolia’s extensive video guides and documentation, made it easy for Chartwell’s team to support its users even during COVID- 19.
With users having different technological backgrounds, Evolia’s intuitive interfaces were a major factor behind the app being widely adopted across the team. It even brought some of the piloting homes to extend the use cases and leverage the app for its leave management and smart scheduling solutions: two key areas Evolia specializes in and built its reputation for in the workforce management industry.
