How Autiste & Majeur Streamlined Volunteer Management with Evolia

Introduction

Founded in 2019 by Sophie Prégent and Charles Lafortune, Autiste & majeur has a mission to raise awareness, inspire, and advance the social inclusion of autistic adults in Quebec.

The organization is built on three core pillars: cooperation, commitment, and inclusion. These values guide every initiative, including one of their most impactful efforts — their participation in the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.

Each year, for an entire week, 117 Tim Hortons restaurants across the Greater Montreal area partner with Autiste & majeur to mobilize volunteers who prepare and decorate the cookies. To better plan and coordinate this large-scale effort, the team needed a simple and effective tool to manage its volunteers.

 

The Challenge

Coordinating 200 volunteers across 117 Tim Hortons locations was previously managed through emails, text messages, and Google files. With so many shifts to cover across multiple locations, this approach quickly became unmanageable. Every change required manual follow-ups, and errors or confusion would increase as the campaign progressed.

For the Autiste & majeur team, the challenge was clear: find a solution that could quickly bring more efficiency and reduce wasted time. Managing volunteer availability, matching needs by location, and assigning the right people to the right shifts all required a structured, accessible, and intuitive tool.

Q&A

The response has been overwhelmingly positive! The interface is intuitive, and each step is simple to follow. Compared to our old methods — Google Forms, emails, and Excel spreadsheets — volunteers especially appreciate how easy it is to sign up and how quickly they receive confirmation.
